rough first draft authors note Welcome to Curiosityitis if you like me have been feeling that imagination is bad enough but Curiosity is killing you then you are not alone and if you think there is hope and a cure then the following words hopefully will give you freedom from hope if Curiosity is Killing You like Me -"place no hope in death" but first have you ever noticed how the word cure is in the word curiosity - aren't you curious to know - well i don't know? but maybe its because there is no cure for curiosity!!! Curiosityitis... think about it, its an affliction that way to few people suffer from...???!!! Curiosity is Killing Me!! is also from title of a book i am not writing, why? because, it would kill me and feed my mind and head full of hope and what to put in a book or website or my head about curiosity would give me a headache and added acute curiosityitis and it would be a MISTAKE to write it.... unless somebody twisted my arm and offered me my head on a platter what can i say about curiosity that would make any sense - since it doesn't make any sense - maybe that is why its so addicting and maybe Henry Miller said it best when asked by a reporter where he got his inspiration - "inspiration, i hate inspiration, it consumes you like a fire, it eats you up!!... i can't wait to get rid of it!!... and besides its not you sitting right here" well maybe he didn't say it just like that - but then again maybe he did or would have... but if you like me suffer from many sleepless night of endless puzzling and twisting and turning and obsessing while rummaging through the landscapes and junk yard of your mind in search of the un-searchable too and can't wait to get rid of it!!... or as a friend once said - when i am quiet i get too many ideas... and yet and yet Curiosityitis is a serious debilitating incurable disease that we suffer from its not a laughing matter - for some insomniacs insomnia has its roots somewhere in curiosity an over-active imagination one might say when i asked Benoit Mandelbrot the father of fractals in a film called "a Conversation with Benoit Mandelbrot in a snow storm" what about curiosity he said "I fight curiosity" i have been suffering with Curiosityitis for sometime just didn't know it was what it was... there was no name for it... my Curiosityitis as far as i can tell comes from my thoughts and terminable or interminable diseased incurable imagination that grabs hold of you and you are its prisoner in life and in death - place no hope in death - some hide behind calling it creativity, passion, etc - but those who know, know and those who don't know well hmmm... so if you, and you know who you are, and we know who you are... you are marked by the deadly mark of curiosity one can read see it in the twinkle of your eyes and in your body language, you cannot hide... there is no escape once you have been touched by curiosityitis it consumes every atom of you... and if you are reading this and suffering from this un-sufferable unimaginable debilitating disease that keeps you up all night, night after night waking you up in all hours of the day and night - if you suffer from curiosityitis and are still alive and able to read this with all the things going on in your deranged and strange mind then you have come to the wrong place again... but you have my sympathies... the symptoms of insufferable curiosity are easy to spot - when you are excited by something being overly interested in something, and having a vacuum cleaner of a mind... you want to know everything every little nuance, detail... questioning everything always looking for answers like a little kid who has never escaped the terrible 2 which fyi i call the age of invention - then as Dante wrote at the door of hell in dante's inferno "place no hope in death" some might disguise curiosityitis as creativity or invention (inner-vention) curious about the unseen, the unknown the unknowable and the invisible is what haunts my imagination again you have come to the wrong place - this is another nail in the coffin of your curiosity and hopefully there will someday be a cure for curiosity if you have any wonderment left in you, go out or inside yourself and imagine the unimaginable, suspend yourself and your pre-conceptions - food for your imagination ------------- curious geo geo@curiosityitis.com --------------------
